9-21-37 PARTICIPATING IN STRIKES AND REFUSING TO WORK. When asked why he came in from work said, "I just want to be locked up in my cell and not be bothered by any one. I am not a big shot or looking for glory. I know we cannot win." When told to go back to his work, he refused to go, saying "I am sorry". (E.J. Miller, Deputy Warden.) Action: To be placed in isolation on restricted diet and to forfeit all privileges until further orders. E.J. Miller, Deputy Warden.
9-27-37 Upon his promise to abide by all regulations in the future, subject was removed to regular cell and work assignment with continued loss of all privileges and the understanding that no industrial good time would be granted for the month of September 1937. E.J. Miller, Deputy Warden.
10-9-37 ALL PRIVILEGES ARE RESTORED THIS DATE TO COY #415, - E.J. Miller, Deputy
4-4-39 FIGHTING IN THE KITCHEN WITH #118-VARSALONA. I was called from the basement to separate this man and Varsalona-#118, who were fighting in the kitchen. When I arrived, a knife fell to the floor. This man (Coy #415) said, "Take me to the Hospital, he stuck me with a knife." Report #2475 by J.B. Steere, Jr. Officer. Action: Evidence shows that Coy hit Varsalona first and knocked him to the floor, which Coy admits. When Mr. Kessler could not stop the fight and left to secure Officer Steere, evidently Varsalona picked up a kitchen knife inflicting several wounds on Coy. ACTION DEFERRED UNTIL COY IS CHECKED OUT OF HOSPITAL. E.J. Miller, Associate.
4-21-39 TRIED BY GOODTIME TRIAL BOARD: - FINDINGS OF FACTS: GUILTY. PENALTY IMPOSED IMPOSED:- FORFEITURE OF ONE HUNDRED (100) DAYS GOODTIME. J.A. Johnston, Warden. CHECKED OUT OF HOSPITAL APRIL 11, 1939.
4-29-39 Yard privileges restored, effective this date. E.J. Miller, Associate.
5-25-39 ALL PRIVILEGES RESTORED, EFFECTIVE THIS DATE.
12-18-39 Palced in isolation, in connection with investigation, being suspected of attempting to saw steel window guard in bake shop. E.J. Miller, Associate Warden.
3-23-40 Removed to regular cell and work assignment.
2-7-42 LOUD TALKING DURING MEAL. At noon meal this man carried on a loud conversation with #554-Bartholomew across the table. Report by M. Amende, Sr. Officer. Action: Stated he might of talked loud as charged. To forfeit one weeks privileges. E.J. Miller, Associate Warden.
