This image (adapted from a 1930s postcard) shows the locations of the ten major escapes attempted during the Warden Johnston years.

Note that the following changes to this scene took place between 1934 and 1941: the laundry building (located behind the Model Industries where four of the escapes began and ended) was demolished as was the Quarry Dock. The space between the Model Industries and the stairs to the Cell House was occupied after 1942 by the New Industries Building.
