This view of the Cell House from the South is distinct because it includes the route taken by Arthur Barker and his companions in their 1939 break from D-Block. The escapees made their way down from D-Block (center), down the road and past the Road Tower (left, just beneath the corner of the recreation yard), and down a steep escarpment to the rocky shore known now as "Barker Beach".
