The Loneliness of the Long Distance Spammer
To tell the truth, I feel sorry for him. He gets up in the morning, sets his computer to run his spamalot program, and sees all his efforts go to naught as his work gets trapped by comment filters or erased when I find it on the site. I can’t tell you whether he does it for himself or if he is contracted. He’s like a dentist in that he is unliked except that he does no one any good. Root canals and extractions save jaws: he is just a pain, easily anesthesized into nonexistence by few keystrokes. I pity him, wherever he is.
