Atrocity

The language of pain is inexplicit yet profound.

I continue to support Amnesty International's efforts to get at the truth.

What about the Iraqis blown to bits by our drones, our cruise missiles, our carpet bombing, our soldiers panicking in the streets of Bagdhad? I mourn Nick Berg, but I will not allow the prostitution of his death to make me forget them.

This is not a time for a pacifist to change his mind about war.

What "allegedly" happened in Camp X-Ray wasn't torture: it was sexual harassment, not unlike what Catherine McKinnon and others saw happening to women in the American workplace.

Do you see what I see?

The Bush Administration does not want any airplay which makes the Right look like an Enemy of the American People that outclasses the worst of the Weathermen

Talk about serving up a lie a'brochette!

I still maintain that I while I do not support "our boys" as they ransack Iraq, I also will not fling nasty epithets at them when they return home.

Face it: Americans are now in the habit of rushing to judgement about anyone or anything who makes this war effort look bad. Some shoot to kill.

To those who say that the war in Iraq is a war for the cause of freedom, I echo the famous phrase of Milton: Look Homeward, Angel!

Far too many bloggers are jumping to print reports coming off their television sets about alleged atrocities in Iraq. Both those for the war and those against it reprint the latest allegations uncritically.
