1-20-36 AGITATING AND PARTICIPATING IN STRIKE. Investigation before and since the strike shows this man to be one of the main agitators for the strike in the Laundry Mangle Department. Report by C.J. Shuttleworth. ACTION: Placed in Solitary "A" Block.
1-23-36 Moved to "D" Block open solitary.
2-1-36 Moved to isolation until further orders.
3-6-36 Moved to regular cell and work assignment.
3-14-36 All privileges restored, except yard.
3-21-36 All privileges restored.
4-18-37 SUSPECTED OF MAKING BREW. In vegetable room where this man works there was found a gallon jug of fresh brew, made of malt, syrup, and sugar. Report by J.H. Simpson, Acting Lieutenant. ACTION: Placed in solitary confinement, restricted diet, and forfeit all privileges until further orders.
4-25-37 Released from solitary confinement to regular cell, no work assignment, continued loss of privileges until further orders.
6-9-37 All privileges restored.
5-20-38 FIGHTING WITH REGISTER #292-SULLIVAN. As the inmate were lining up in the yard after 12:30 P.M., I noticed McCain #267, making passes at Sullivan. I went over and grabbed McCain's wrist, in which he was holding a knife and took the knife away from him. Sullivan then tried to get McCain but Mr. Mickelson held him. Both inmates were immediately taken into the cell house by Mr. Boyd and myself. The knife was made out of a solid piece of brass, was seven inches long, with half-inch blade, one inch wide, sharpened on the sides to a razor edge and pointed, handle wrapped with electricians tape. Report by J.J. Lapsley, Jr. O. ACTION: Placed in solitary confinement on restricted diet, with all privileges forfeited until further orders.
6-5-38 Removed to "D" Block Isolation, continued loss of privileges.
9-20-38 UNNECESSARY LOUD TALKING. ACTION: Reprimanded and warned.
10-7-38 CREATING DISTURBANCE IN CELL HOUSE. Yelling at top of his voice. Report by R. Dennison, Jr. Officer. ACTION: Placed in solitary confinement on restricted diet.
10-9-38 Removed from solitary to isolation, continued loss of all privileges until further orders. (Two meals per day)
